Along with an MFA in screenwriting from The American Film Institute, George has a Ph.D. in anthropology that also involves biomedicine. Before he became a filmmaker George worked at many world class research institutes, such as Yale Medical School, MIT, and The Smithsonian. It was his intention to become an anthropologist to become a filmmaker.
Since becoming a filmmaker, he's worked with the FBI developing true stories for network and cable television. Now, he often uses these combined skills in his research for screenwriting to add authenticity in genres from crime thrillers to historical biopics to action adventures.
George has optioned and sold scripts and treatments. Recently, he was commissioned to write the feature film, SETON AND LOBO: THE LEGENDARY WOLF. It's based on the true story, personal journals, and autobiographical book of Ernest Thompson Seton. Among other projects, he's working with The Foundation for Coast Guard History and Morgan Freeman's Revelations Entertainment, and Beau and Jeff Bridges on INTO THE ICE: THE GREAT ARCTIC RESCUE, based on the true story of the greatest rescue in Arctic history.
